SimpleVisit bridges common video calling apps for telemedicine
Learn how our service leverages Google Duo to create a user-friendly telemedicine experience.
Using Google Duo for Telemedicine
As SimpleVisit continues to provide medical professionals a seamless experience in connecting with their patients through video calls, we continue to improve and expand our service to keep that experience alive.
Google Duo has been added as one of the many platforms that our providers, and their patients, can use to conduct their telehealth appointments. This is a step forward in supporting a broader majority of users without having to use a special telemedicine video application that requires installation and setup. We are particularly excited for Android users looking to use their smartphones for their virtual appointment.
SimpleVisit’s patented technology unlocks Google Duo to connect with just about any other video platform including Skype, FaceTime, Hangouts, Microsoft Teams or Zoom. For example, a patient using Google Duo on an Samsung phone can now connect with a doctor who is using Zoom on a desktop.
Google Duo is a video chat mobile app developed by Google, available on Android, iOS, and Chrome for Desktop. Google Duo lets users make video calls in high definition; optimized for low-bandwidth networks. End-to-end encryption is enabled by default. Duo is based on phone numbers, allowing users to call someone from their contact list. Google Duo comes pre-installed on most Android smartphones, and if not, it’s easily downloadable from the Google Play Store.
