Transforming Access to Care — Part 1

With well over 100 people crowding in a small venue past secret service checkpoints, there was much anticipation as we awaited the arrival of our special guest.

This was just a week ago in a coffee shop turned conference center in San Francisco; where we joined with a select group of organizations during the 2nd annual Startup Health Festival. Reportedly, only a handful of companies qualify as a Startup Health “Transformer” — about 180 currently out of over 4500 applicants. It is a privilege to be among such company and the honor was validated by this special meeting.

Introduced onto the stage in this intimate gathering was none other than the sitting Vice President, Joe Biden. This was not a political affair, but a sincere statement for the future. Mr. Biden vowed to join the efforts of the Startup Health community in transforming healthcare, citing his commitment to a cure for cancer since the passing of his son several years ago.

Biden echoed the sentiment of the meeting’s organizers in their claim to advance a century’s worth of healthcare innovation within the next 25 years.

SimpleVisit is part of that plan. We are a Health Transformer addressing the Access to Care moonshot. Our unique solution in telemedicine opens up a whole new world of options for patients to see their doctor. Anywhere providers or patients have internet-connected devices, they can receive a SimpleVisit.

Any doctor can care for any of their patients remotely by simply answering a call at the time of the scheduled appointment. A live SimpleVisit Operator initiates the call to all parties and manages any technical requirements to ensure a seamless virtual visit.

We are thrilled to be part of this mission to improve access to care and empower doctors to reach their patients right where they are… any where in the world.
